Saturn or Sani takes around 30 years to go round the sun and changes 12 houses in the process.

It stays in each house for exactly 2 ½ years. The Lord Sani gets into action only while in selected six houses and the action as to whether it is in favour or against the devoteeare purely based on how the devotee performed to be good or bad in general. More or less, Lord Sani is like a judge and suitable punishments or awards will be given by him. However, punishments can be minimized by offering prayers to him and the other way round good things can be multiplied also by offering prayers to him.

Even though everyday prayers are available, Saturday prayers are special.

There is a ceremony called Sani Peyarchi which is held once in 2 ½ years when the Lordchanges the house.

Depending on the moon sign the Sani will either disturb you or favour you, depending on your astrology.

7 ½ Sani, 12th house, 1st house and 2nd house, Arthrasthma Sani, Pongu Sani and Ashtama Sani.
